Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DataTru ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Account Terms

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. DataTru cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with this security obligation.

3. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. You must not, in the use of the Service, violate any laws in your jurisdiction.

4. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by DataTru and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

5. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of all data you submit to the Service.

6. Payment and Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You authorize DataTru (through our payment processor, Stripe) to charge the payment method on file for your subscription, including any usage above your plan's included allowance, on each billing cycle.

6.1 Trial

Self-serve plans include a 14-day free trial. We require a payment method at signup but we do not charge it during the trial. If you do not select a paid plan before the end of the trial, we will auto-charge the Starter plan ($99/month). You can cancel any time during the trial and we will not charge you.

6.2 Auto-renewal

Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current price for your plan. To stop renewal, cancel before the end of the current period from your billing settings.

6.3 Included allowance and overage

Each plan includes a monthly allowance of analyzed reviews (see the pricing page for current allowances). We bill $0.03 each for additional reviews above your included allowance, up to the monthly cap you configure in your billing settings.

6.4 Monthly cap

Every subscription has a monthly cap on total billable charges (plan price plus overage). The default cap is 2x your plan price. You can adjust the cap in billing settings, including selecting "no cap" if you want truly uncapped usage. Once your monthly cap is reached, additional reviews are not billed for the remainder of the period.

6.5 Refunds

We do not issue refunds for partial billing periods (no refunds for unused time). You can cancel any time to stop future charges; you keep access through the end of your current period. Full details are in our refund policy.

6.6 Price changes

We will give you at least 60 days notice before any price increase to your plan. Existing subscriptions are grandfathered at the prior price for 12 months from the announcement date. Annual subscribers are locked at their prior price until their next renewal. Full details are in our pricing changes policy.

6.7 Taxes

All prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes. Taxes are calculated and added at checkout via Stripe Tax based on your billing address.

7. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall DataTru be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
